What Bono Doesn't Say About Africa

I know Bono has become the darling of the evangelical church of late because of his efforts to help out in Africa, but I think he would do well to give the whole story from that part of the world. Personally speaking, I would be much more inclined to lend him my ear if he would be as vocal for the unborn babies being killed by the millions in America and around the world. Take a look at the stat to the left and ask how he and others so vocal about poverty and aids in Africa, can be so silent on the the issue of abortion. Not only has Bono been silent, Rick Warren invites Barak Obama (who supports partial birth abortion) to speak from his pulpit. Perhaps the abortion issue is just not a cool topic anymore in some evangelical circles. Have we bowed to the god of cool?

We had a guest speaker at our church today (in the US) who showed a Bono clip to help kick of a new year of focus. Afterwards, I said almost the same thing you did regarding Bono/unborn to a friend of mine. The though later reminded me of the quote by Martin Luther:

"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefield besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."
