I Cannot Be Silent Any Longer…

Well it’s been almost a year since I have posted anything on this blog. To be honest, I have not had the time or energy to keep up with things. I also have found trying to keep up with all the false teaching or global warming propaganda just about impossible and as a result somewhat depressing. I think a better tact is to be more about preaching and teaching the truth of God’s word.

All that being said, I will resume chiming in from time to time when I feel it’s necessary. Now is one of those times.

Recently I have been listening to a good Christian podcast called, ‘Fighting For The Faith’. The host, Chris Roseborough had a really good insight the other day about the church when he said, what was considered post modern/ emergent back in 2003 has now become part of the main stream in evangelicalism. I totally agree and I think it’s absolutely unbelievable how undiscerning the church has become.

On recent shows he has played audio of Shane Hipps teaching eastern New Age mystical meditation from the pulpit at Mars Hill Church where Rob Bell is the senior pastor, John Ortberg interviewing Dallas Willard where Willard comes up with the most convoluted interpretation of John 14:6 I have ever heard. His interpretation basically promotes a doctrinal position of universalism. He and Ortberg also put forth the idea that Christians that hold to the idea of salvation through Christ alone are arrogant. This is significant because both Ortberg and Willard have been considered very much a part of the evangelical mainstream for many years.

On the same show, Roseborough also played audio of an interview with N.T. Wright. In the interview Wright basically makes fun of Christians that hold to a literal interpretation of Genesis. This is incredibly relevant to me right now as I am currently leading ‘The Truth Project’ at out church and Monday evenings at our house. We just finished discussing this topic the last couple of weeks.

Last night I was on Facebook and saw a post from ‘Dundee For Christ’ (Dundee fir Christ is a ministry that promotes Christian events in Dundee, Scotland) promoting Rob Bell coming to Scotland. This breaks my heart because Scotland doesn’t need this rubbish going over there. I left a comment voicing my displeasure explaining how Bell has promoted in his book, Velvet Elvis’, the idea that essential doctrines such as the virgin birth and trinity are not that important. The response I got was that Rob was doing great things for the church because of his cutting edge creativity. There was no response in regard to issues of essential Christian doctrine. My comment was also deleted and I was de-friended from ‘Dundee For Christ’s’ facebook friend list. I did send them a response with some links for them to listen to. We’ll see what happens.

That’s enough for now but there is much more that could be said.

Something of Historic Proportion is Happening

By T.P.S.

Emphasis and links added

This insightful commentary has been posted on dozens of websites. Often attributed to "Pam Geller," it first appeared in the name of "TPS." (It's not surprising that a conservative college teacher would want to remain anonymous these days.) Since the message begins with a plea to spread the information (no copyright notice included), we are sharing it with you.

Friends,

Will you please take the time to read this, and if you think it worthwhile, pass it along to your email list, and ask them to read it? Even if they voted, with all good intentions, for Mr. Obama?

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books in six languages.... I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist, but, they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus....

Yes, a perfect storm maybe brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about 10 - 15 years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people whom we know can never pay back? Why? We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September.

Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "We the People," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, and school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?).. We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x 10. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now. This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning.

I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises.

Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission. And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression].

Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media - Did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and... change. And the people surely got what they voted for. (Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.) Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years - a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency - it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong, close my eyes, have another latte and ignore what is transpiring around me.

Some people scoff at me; others laugh or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe - and why I believe it. I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.

The Shack

One of the biggest books in Christendom right now is 'The Shack'. It seems like just about everywhere I go I find someone who has read it or is currently reading it and for the most part people seem to really like it. This is a bit concerning to me as the book was written by a person who is a self proclaimed Universalist. This should not be too surprising if you've read the book and are at least a bit discerning since one of the points he makes in the book is that Jesus is 'A' way and not necessarily the only way to heaven. This is a huge problem but just one of many.

Here is a video put together by 'Way of the Master' that highlights 13 heresies found in 'The Shack'.

15 Truths About Abortion

Here's something to think about especially now that we have the most pro-abortion president in our history. Does anyone else think it's a bit weird that we are now not only funding abortions in our own country but internationally as well. Thanks again to all those Christians who were hip and relevant enough to vote for him.

15 Truths about Abortion

“These …things doth the LORD hate…a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.” Proverbs 6:16-17

1. Existing fetal homicide laws make a man guilty of manslaughter if he kills the baby in a mother’s womb (except in the case of abortion).

2. Fetal surgery is performed on babies in the womb to save them while another child the same age is being legally destroyed.

3. Babies can sometimes survive on their own at 23 or 24 weeks, but abortion is legal beyond this limit.

4. Living on its own is not the criterion of human personhood, as we know from the use of respirators and dialysis.

5. Size is irrelevant to human personhood, as we know from the difference between a one-week-old and a six-year-old.

6. Developed reasoning powers are not the criterion of personhood, as we know from the capacities of three-month-old babies.

7. Infants in the womb are human beings scientifically by virtue of their genetic make up.

8. Ultrasound has given a stunning window on the womb that shows the unborn at eight weeks sucking his thumb, recoiling from pricking, responding to sound. All the organs are present, the brain is functioning, the heart is pumping, the liver is making blood cells, the kidneys are cleaning fluids, and there is a fingerprint. Virtually all abortions happen later than this date.

9. Justice dictates that when two legitimate rights conflict, the limitation of rights that does the least harm is the most just. Bearing a child for adoption does less harm than killing him.

10. Justice dictates that when either of two people must be inconvenienced or hurt to alleviate their united predicament, the one who bore the greater responsibility for the predicament should bear more of the inconvenience or hurt to alleviate it.

11. Justice dictates that a person may not coerce harm on another person by threatening voluntary harm on themselves.

12. The outcast and the disadvantaged and exploited are to be cared for in a special way, especially those with no voice of their own.

13. What is happening in the womb is the unique person-nurturing work of God, who alone has the right to give and take life.

14. There are countless clinics that offer life and hope to both mother and child (and father and parents), with care of every kind lovingly provided by people who will meet every need they can.

15.Jesus Christ can forgive all sins, and will give all who trusts him the help they need to do everything that life requires.

Rick Warren prayed in the name of False Christ "Isa"

Did anyone else catch this. Part of me wants to give him the benefit of the doubt but I'm wondering how you could miss this while preparing for such a huge moment.

“I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus, Jesus (hay-SOOS), who taught us to pray, Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. –Rick Warren, from inauguration prayer

The following is excerpted from Daniel Cordell,
“Praying in the Name of Isa,” Loveforthetruth.com, Jan. 20, 2009:

“Today, in his Presidential Inauguration prayer, Rick Warren prayed in the name of `Yeshua, Isa, and Jesus.´ It seems the three names Warren used were to imply the three `Abrahamic Faiths´ (as they are so-called), Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. What´s significant is the name `Isa´ being prayed by the `evangelical´ Warren. `Isa´ is strictly Koranic and used by Arab Muslims. Even Arab Christians don´t refer to Isa,´ but to `Yesua.´ I´ve lived and studied Arabic in one of the same Muslim countries that Warren has visited, and I think he probably knows that the Arab Christian communities only refer to Jesus as `Yesua´ and not `Isa´ as the Muslims. `Isa´ was not Jewish, but Palestinian. `Isa´ did not die on the cross but instead had someone die in his place. `Isa´ is a Muslim prophet. `Isa´ is only found in the Koran. The name `Isa´ doesn´t have any Biblical support or any meaning found in Biblical scholarship. Yet, Rick prayed in the name of `Isa.´”

In case that's not enough for you, how about the 31,072 that have signed this petition.

Seems the tide is beginning to turn all of a sudden.

Weather Channel Founder Wants to Sue Al Gore

Weather Channel founder, John Coleman wants to sue Al Gore so that at least there can be some debate on the issue of Global Warming/ Climate Change. Check out the article here.

I say, go for it.

Barak Obama and Black Liberation Theology

With all the news coming out about Barak Obama's Pastor and his Black Liberation theology views, I thought it might be beneficial to get some proper perspective on the issue. Here is an excellent article written on the subject by Christian apologist Ron Rhodes.
